Citizen’s Distributing Flyers On Pyramid/McDonald’s Issue in 15th Ward
St. Louis Citizens in opposition to the proposed suburban-style McDonald’s on South Grand are using today’s election as an opportunity to reach active voters in the 15th Ward. The 15th Ward is that of Alderwoman Jennifer Florida who is Volunteers concerned about the future of Grand are distributing a flyer to people at two polling places in the ward:
Mann School, 4047 Juniata (map)
Fanning School Gym, 3417 Grace (enter from Giles, map)
If you can volunteer to help pass out flyers please go to one of the above locations. Polls are open until 7pm. Please help convince our elected officials and greedy developers that we want and demand better development along South Grand.

Thanks for the coverage Steve. I will be at Fanning School from 4-7. Anyone wanna help, show up, I will be wearing a retro shirt.
Careful, Florida could pull a Tom-Bauer and sue City residents behind the flier.
[REPLY – From the sound of things the residents of the 15th Ward are about to do a ‘Bauer’ on her — recall her right out of office. – SLP]
And they have plenty of support from people outside of her ward.
Everyone should know that Florida showed up this morning at two schools complaning about the fliers. She said we were dirtying her neighborhood with false information.
Irregardless, many people were interested, and many people were strongly opposed to this development.
I declare it a success. Lets see what the fallout does to pressure her.
Whoever designed the fliers has a good sense of humor and a good eye for layout.
Thanks for your efforts.
True, you don’t often see the word “crappy” in political fliers!
Great idea. The flyer looked kinda busy to me though. I know when I get handed a flyer I don’t take the time to read the whole thing, especially if it looks that verbose. Sorry, I don’t mean to critize. Like I said I think it’s a great idea, I’m just offering my 2 cents that might make it more effective.
Jason,
Yes, it is verbose, however this issue is not one that can be summarized in two sentences, and the have full effect.
We did not want to limit the scope of the issue for the sake of being succinct.
The people that took the flyers are not lazy, after all, they are the 10 percent that gives a damn about the city.
