The Roberts Brother had planned to raze these two structures as part of converting the building to the right to a Hotel Indigo. Â I assume that project is on hold, a victim of the economy. Â While I wish the windows were still in the one building, I’d rather see these two buildings remain standing & vacant than razed for an auto court.
Are the only options to leave “as is” or put in an auto park? It would be sad to see these awesome buildings go, but also sad that they stay in a dilapidated state!
The one on the left was a Fatted Calf at one point. The original Miss Hullings building at 11th and Locust has been torn down. I wish the Roberts Brothers would just renovate these buildings instead of tearing them down. Downtown doesn't need any more hotels at this point, and if one is really necessary, why not put one in the old Alverne building instead?

the building on the left was an original Miss Hullings, I think. and is the building on the opposite corner the new bike station downtown?
The building on the left would make an amazing bar/restaurant!! I work right near there and pass by thinking that all the time.
Don't know if you saw this, but it has to do with more than the economy:

The building on the left is literally poison. Most owners have had to bow down to the asbestos reality of that place.
