Thanks Bob!
One of my favorite views downtown is seeing,  from Washington Ave,  the bus on City Museum’s rooftop.  The sad news from yesterday:
“City Museum founder Bob Cassilly was found dead in a bulldozer Monday morning at a property in far north St. Louis that he was transforming into his latest attraction.” (STLtoday)
Bob Cassilly was 61.
I also like the view of the City Museum’s wild roof from the rooftop deck at Printer’s Lofts. I was unable to find my interior photos but I see the exterior almost daily and hopefully you’ve seen the interior. Recently City Museum posted some amazing rooftop photos from the foggy morning we had recently, they are in a  Facebook album.

Those of you reading who haven’t been to City Museum cannot begin to grasp the magnitude of the loss. Â We have some mighty big shoes to fill in St. Louis, thanks for the inspiration Bob!

Couldn’t agree more – he will be missed . . . .

I visited St Louis for the first time this weekend. While I thought “City Museum” was a bit of a misnomer I’m not sure what else you could call the venue. I’ve never seen anything quite like it. So unique. Such an inspiration. Great fun. I’m sorry to hear this tragic news for his family and your city…

very, very sad day. “We have some mighty big shoes to fill in St. Louis.” Â I hope all his dreams can come to life.

Thanks Bob for constantly reminding us that we can “grow up” and still be a kid!

A great story I heard today. Some years ago Bob was visiting the Michelangelo statue the Pieta in Vatican City when a madman starting wacking the Pieta with a hammer (do you remember when this happened?)Â Bob is the one who tackled the attacker and held him until the police arrived.
A man dedicated to art. RIP

he  was a inovative man who found a way to bring out the kid in all who visited, me included. his wife is just as artsy. i hope she will finish his plans on the water park. what a great addition to st louis his contribution has made. i can only imagine what the water park would add to the tourism of st louis.
