A View From East St. Louis, Illinois
Leaving East St. Louis city hall on Monday evening I spotted a guy taking pictures but I couldn’t figure out of what. Then I saw the geyser from the Malcolm W. Martin Memorial Park on the east riverfront.
The park, and specifically the geyser, are among my favorite places in the region. The time I took the picture would have been just past 6pm since the geyser is only operated every three hours.

East St. Louis has one of the most beautiful views of our skyline! For those that continually bash St. Louis, I would say go and live in East St. Louis. It is a shame that over the past 50 years the town and it’s surrounding townships have continuted to be embroiled in petty politics, infighting, tax wars, and that isn’t even addressing the issues the citizens face. This truely is a city, that if they ever got their act together, made it safe for investments, and provided employment for it’s citizens and kicked all the corruption out of all the offices, could truely amount to something fantastic. But unfortunately, in another 50 years, it will still be the same.
