Poll: Do You Plan To Shop On Thanksgiving Day?
Some retailers have announced they’ll be open Thanksgiving Day, while others proclaim they’ll be closed.
Kmart, J.C. Penney, Toys R Us and Walmart are all opening their doors on Thanksgiving this year, but that doesn’t mean everyone is asking workers to report for Black Friday duty a day early.
At least 13 large retailers have decided to remain closed on Thanksgiving. In various statements, the companies have cited the questionable benefits of opening on Thursday and the importance of preserving the holiday for employees and customers alike. (Huffington Post)
I’m curious if readers will be out shopping, at home shopping online, or not shopping at all. The poll is in the right sidebar (desktop layout).

DAMN DOGS ARE MAKING POOR OL SARGE LOOK BAD
I don’t plan on using a portapotty on this day. let all you sheep go and give me the skilnny
I’m surprised at this polls results. I’ve reviewed 25 pols on this subject as part of some research I am doing and in every one, at least 74% of respondents stated that they were not shopping. In any case, The majority of people don’t shop that day, but sadly, enough people do show up for cheap deals. I wouldn’t say it’s the most profitable day for retailers and I wish more would keep their doors closed.
I’m a bit surprised by te current results, as well. One variable may be what people expect to be shopping for in a store – something they forgot or need for the big feast? Or searching for that big pre-black-Friday deal? I’m not surprised by any online shopping – that happens 24/7 every day, already . . .
Hell to the NO. Matter of fact, I don’t plan to shop for ANYTHING on Friday, which is actually Buy Nothing Day.
As for skewed poll results, whaddya gonna do. Right-wing douchebags will be right-wing douchebags. It’s all they’ve got these days. They’re losing on same-sex marriage, cannabis legalization, and pretty much every other subject out there. All they’ve got left is massively corrupt gerrymandering and voter suppression. Without those two, into the dustbin of history they’d go. Losers and cowards, the lot of them.
I plan to shop on Small Business Saturday.
